Surachai embraces King Power Group as RS shareholder to strengthen business

Ladprao-Pornpan Techarungchaikul, COO of RS Public Company, revealed that on July 31, 2015. King Power Group completed a big lot transaction of RS shares from the Chetchotisak family, the major shareholder. The transaction included 79 million shares from Surachai Chetchotisak and 15 million shares from Chet Chetchotisak, 94 million shares in total, or 9% of the total shares. The shares are worth about 940 million baht.

Through this big lot transaction, King Power Group becomes one of RS's major shareholders, while the Chetchotisak family remains the largest shareholder. There will be no operational change in the company's structure. King Power Group's policy is to invest in high-potential media business only.

King Power Group chose to invest in RS because of the expansion potential from media business to other related businesses in the future. Over the past years, King Power Group has been a good partner of RS and its major shareholders. Therefore, when the company was looking for investment in the media business, RS naturally was its first choice. RS owns Channel 8 Digital TV which broke even in its first year of operation, and whose rating is at number four in the country. Meanwhile, it also owns four other successful TV channels namely Channel 2, Sabaidee TV, YouChannel, and Ploen TV. Additionally, RS is a fundamentally strong organization with steady dividends and good financial health
