RS is aggressively stepping ahead as the leader of satellite TV, positioning its "Channel 2" at channel 2 on every platform. The feedback has been very positive as the position is easily accessed. The channel aims to be number one of satellite TV and generate 200 million baht revenue. A line of new programs will soon be introduced, featuring big names such as Channel 3's TV personality "Pui" Pimolwan Hoonthongkham and "Tak" Siriporn Yooyod in the program Show Taek Fong.

Pornpan Techarungchaikul, COO of RS, said that although digital TV broadcasting will begin this April 25, the company believes that satellite TV still holds a lot of potential as it reaches 60% of the country's audience or about 13 million households. The company therefore sees the importance of its satellite TV business as well as its digital TV sector.

Recently, on April 1, 2014, the company has moved its "Channel 2" to channel 2 on every satellite platform, including the PSI box which holds more than 50% market share in the satellite TV market. Formerly known as "Star Max" channel, the logo and name have been changed to "Channel 2" with the slogan "full flavors for Thai audience", targeting every group of audience with a focus on entertainment and celebrities. The company is confident that Channel 2 will become Thailand's number 1 satellite TV channel within a year (surpassing Channel 8 by RS which will now become a digital TV channel). The channel is expected to generate 200 million baht revenue or a 60% growth compared to last year.

Following its change and rebranding, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the channel is widely talked about on social media and in general. Businesses and advertising agencies have also expressed great enthusiasm. RS is sure that it is walking in the right direction and that its strategy - placing the channel at number 2 on every platform - is the right one. Being on the same number on every platform makes the channel easier to access and remember. The channel also aims to develop its content and programs to follow the slogan, and it is the first channel to bring together celebrities from every label without discrimination. Channel 2 offers fun and vibrant variety programs featuring leading celebrities and artists in Thailand. The programs run 24 hours a day.

Pattira Palawatvichai, Executive Vice President Television Business of RS, said that Channel 2 is adjusting its programs to meet its slogan, and many new programs are underway including Krua Ying Sab by leading celebrities Ajarn Yingsak Jonglertjesadawong and Poj Arnon, Dao Lan Tung featuring millionaire likay star Chaiya Mitrchai, and Ok Taek Variety featuring sassy trio Panadda Wongpoodee, Wichuda Pindum and Wattana Kamtorntip.

Another highlight of its new programs which has recently debuted on April 1, 2014 is Show Taek Fong - a variety talk show which invites celebrities for an in-depth interview, hosted by Pimolwan Hoonthongkham, leading TV personality from Channel 3, and Siriporn Yooyord. The program is on daily at 10am, 4pm and 7pm. Other successful programs in the channel include Kon Dang Nang Clear by Ajarn Yingsak Jonglertjesadawong, which is the most popular variety talk show at the moment, airing daily at 11am, 5pm, 8pm and 11pm, Game Dara Chalala featuring Kai Samaphol and Aon Sripan which airs every day at 9am, 1pm and 9pm, and Toh Khao Hi Entertain, an entertainment news program by three hosts Kong Piya, Thong Thong and Mai Sukhontawa, which runs daily at 8am, 2pm and 6pm.
