RS remains strong despite political unrest, attracting four big names to co-sponsor the broadcast of World Cup 2014 according to plan. The company reveals that it will generate over 650 million baht from managing the broadcasting license this time because it is a major tournament that Thai people have been waiting for. Thai soccer fans will certainly be glued to the screen and entertained by the exclusive content prepared by RS.

Surachai Chetchotisak, CEO of RS, the exclusive licensee to broadcast the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil in Thailand, said that even though the past 3-4 months has been quite slow due to the political unrest, RS still remains strong. In 2010, RS was tremendously successful in managing the most valuable broadcast content in the world – the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa because the company was fully prepared in every aspect, from the broadcasting system to the team of professionals. The success has earned RS complete trust from major companies in Thailand who are now delighted to be major sponsors for this year’s World Cup broadcast.

Recently, the company has received great feedback from interested companies who want to take part in sport marketing. At present, RS has partnered up with four sponsors as planned, namely Coca-Cola Thailand, Chang, AIS 3G 2100 and PTT Group. It is expected that the management of broadcasting license for the 2014 World Cup will be as expected, which is 650 million baht, 80% of which will come from sponsorship and 20% from sublicensing.

“On behalf of RS, I would like to thank all the sponsors for trusting us. I am very confident that the broadcast of the 2014 World Cup will be more fun and exciting than ever before. This is the great tournament that Thai fans have waited four years for. We have also prepared special content to entertain our soccer fans, from counting down to the opening of the event and in-depth analysis from every angle by sport gurus to exclusive programs that will take the audience to get closer to the players from the moment they leave their hotel to the moment the enter the field. I am sure that our viewers will enjoy our content which will be broadcast in both SD and HD,” said Surachai.

Surapol Utintu, Executive Director of Thai Beverage Marketing, said that Chang has always been a World Cup broadcasting sponsor. This time, Chang will bring the games straight to your home and increase the excitement by introducing Chang World of Football campaign, which will surprise the Thai fans during the World Cup season this year.
