RS Outperformed in the Third Quarter with 803 Million Baht in Revenue and an Increase of 68% in Net Profit, Contributed by a Leap Growth in Satellite TV Business

“RS” discloses the third-quarter revenue of 803 million baht with a net profit of 76.3 million baht. Satellite TV business had a leap growth of 96% from income of 5 satellite TV channels including Channel 8, Sabaidee TV, YOU Channel, YAAK TV and RS Sport La Liga which led to an increase in revenue, representing its leadership in satellite TV in Thailand.

Lad Prao — Darm Nana, Chief Financial Officer of RS Public Company Limited (RS) discloses that RS posted total revenue of 803 Million Baht in the third quarter of 2012 with a net profit of 76.3 Million Baht, up 68.9% from the same period last year. Revenue from satellite TV business rose 95.9% from an increase in advertising revenues from 4 satellite TV channels including Channel 8, Sabaidee TV, YOU Channel and YAAK TV. In this quarter, RS also started to recognize revenue from the management of the La Liga broadcasting rights on various channels, advertising, sales of ‘SUNBOX’ set-top boxes and revenue from La Liga broadcast on mobile phone in DTAC network.

Additionally, radio business run by Sky-High Network Co., Ltd. continued generating revenue with a growth of 36% from the same period last year from advertisement pricing adjustment in Cool 93 Fahrenheit as well as growing numbers of various events for audiences and clients including Cool Outing 7, Ink Eat All Around (Second Year) and Cool Music Alive. These help keep Cool 93 Fahrenheit as one of the most popular radio stations in Thailand, ranked No. 1 in the easy listening music station group for many consecutive years. It also expands audience base to smart phone user with the launch of App Cool which gets a great feedback. Recently, it sets to celebrate a number of downloads totaling over 1 Million to return profit to audience.

Revenue from Showbiz business increased by 13.3% from concerts and marketing events for example James in Concert, K-OTIC The Memory Concert, Lift & Oil Happy Party Concert and AIS Fun Fair.

“For our business plan, we will continue enhancing media and content business. But this year we will emphasize on TV business, especially satellite TV, as it has potential for greater growth. We will improve the content to have more quality and meet audience’s need as well as to hold activities and events to meet client’s need.
