Ladprao - Mrs. Pornpan Techarungchaikul, Chief Operating Officer, RS Public Company Limited, discloses, "the company revised the advertising rates to be in line with each content in all RS's satellite TV channels with the increase of around 50%. We use rating guarantee strategy as we are confident in our potential as the same to that of free TV. The company uses Channel 8 as the pilot channel that has the adjustment in advertising rates and new programs to reach target audiences as high as possible. According to Neilsen Media Research, RS's 4 satellite TV channels in recent month have a combined number of viewers totalling over 50 million and are popular consecutively."
Mr. Ong-Art Singlumpong, Vice President, Television Business, RS Public Company Limited says, "Channel 8 recently plans to expand audience base by joining hands with TrueVisions to bring Channel 8 to broadcast in TrueVisions which will result in 80% of Thai people able to view Channel 8. The rest 20% are those using antennas which will be gone within 2 years. The partnership between Channel 8 and TrueVisions will benefit both parties. TrueVisions fans will be able to see not only entertainment variety and all kinds of TV series from Channel 8 but also La Liga Football at Channel 8 where famous football matches will be broadcast every Sunday night. Channel 8 can be viewed at channel 65 for SD box and channel 88 for HD box from October onwards. Channel 8 can be also viewed through C Band and KU Band at channel 8 as well as all cable TVs nationwide. Additionally, iPhone and iPad users can download Channel 8 Application to follow a variety of news, information, movement and entertainment from Channel 8.
"RS's satellite TV business which comprises 5 satellite TV channels including Sabaidee TV, YOU Channel, YAAK TV, Channel 8 and RS SPORT LA LIGA is expected to generate revenue of around 550 million baht as target by the end of 2012 or a growth of 120% from last year and we forecast revenue from this business will continue growing many times next year," Mrs. Pornpan concludes.
