RS, the leading entertainment network covering entertainment and sports contents announces its sole official license to live broadcast the 25th SEA Games Laos Vientiane, 2009. Nationwide sport enthusiasts will enjoy following the Southeast Asian Games scheduled to be held in Lao's Vientiane from December 9-18.
Lad Phrao- Surachai Chetchotsak, President of RS Plc. said that RS has been continuously enhancing its sport business which recently has won the rights to live broadcast FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010, worldwide most-awaiting football match.
To further moving into sport business, lately RS has won the broadcast rights for SEA Games Laos Vientiane, 2009 as the official sole licensee. The upcoming 25th SEA Games marks another greatest sport game of Southeast Asia with up to 11 countries joining the sport event.
As a biennial multi-sports event, the 25th SEA Games will feature 33 sporting games in competition. The games are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by Olympic Council of Asia.
The 25th SEA Games is scheduled to be held in Vientiane, Laos running from December 9-18, 2009. Two white elephants which symbolized Laos once "the kingdom of million elephants" (Lan Xang) were chosen as the official mascots. The names of the elephants are Ms. Champi and Mr. Champa representing the national flower of Laos.
While emblem for the 25th SEA Games is the That Luang great stupa image which is the symbol of Laos nation landmark with the Makong river reflecting elegance, charm and attractiveness of highly value of Laos culture, art and history.
According to the data, Thailand and Indonesia are the strongest powerhouse countries who won the most gold medals for nine SEA Games editions. The second is Myanmar with twice SEA Games over-all champion while Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines each are once SEA Games over-all champion.
The 25th SEA Games will be Thailand and Indonesia challenge to be the top country to grab the most gold medals in this year's biennial event. For this year, boxing and football are still the most favorite sports that win highest interest among Thais.
